Video: Fearless Pup Charges Black Bear in Neighbor’s Backyard

A surveillance video captured earlier this week shows one brave pup lunge at a black bear who had been pawing around a New Jersey resident’s backyard.

The bear was busy trying to figure out how to bust open a bird feeder when a black dog (Riley) rushes into the yard, and jumps into action. The pup appears to catch the bear off guard and the two run off with the dog nipping at its heels.

Mark Stinziano, the man whose camera caught the action, posted the footage to Facebook with a caption reading:

“My neighbor’s dog is getting a steak dinner next time I see him. He is an awesome pup that comes to check on the kids from time to time. Now he is keeping them safe!“

Stinziano’s video now has over 53,000 views with most people commenting “good boy!” and calling the dog “fearless.”
