Double-Mouthed Fish: New York Woman Reels in Fish With Two Mouths

A woman caught a fish in upstate New York and said she knew right away it was a good one, but she was not prepared for what she was about to pull of out of the water – a double-mouthed fish!

Debbie Geddes was fishing Lake Champlain with her husband when her ordinary fishing day quickly turned into a head scratching afternoon. She quickly snapped a few photos of the bizarre double-mouthed fish and sent them over to her co-worker Adam Facteau, who then shared them on Facebook.

“I’ve had messages from all over the world, like people asking about this fish and it seems like everybody’s got an opinion on what is the cause of this fish having two mouths,” Facteau said according to WPTZ-TV.

As far as what actually did cause this mutation, the conspiracy theories have seriously run rampant. Some claim the injury is due to the fish swallowing a hook, all the way to blaming the president..

“Good luck,” Geddes said to other anglers trying to catch a double-mouthed fish.
