Watch Now: Films for Forests – Pre-screening for Conservation with RGS/AWS
OutdoorHub Editor: Keenan Crow 03.25.20
Spring is the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) and American Woodcock Society’s (AWS) prime time for banquets and raising funds for the coming year. In these uncertain times, RGS/AWS has been forced to cancel their entire banquet season. However, conservation is NOT cancelled! ‘Films for Forests – Pre-screening for Conservation’ is their effort to raise money to support their mission, and put back into the ground to help create abundant and healthy forests.
‘Films for Forests – Pre-screening for Conservation’ starts at just $5 to rent and $20 to buy the complete series, all prior to their release later this year.
“By making a small contribution to our #healthyforests mission, you’ll gain access to a series of four unreleased films prior to their public release later this year. Film releases will include a ‘Healthy Forest’ film featuring Drew Smith, a film about woodcock banding, a film about an Ohio RGS chapter and a film about rabbit hunting.”
And that’s not all!
Purina has also committed to the drive by matching dollar for dollar all the way up to $5000 – so your $20 turns to $40 instantly.
It seems everybody is scrambling to come up with some form of in-home entertainment right now, so if you’re an upland hunter, this could’t have come at a better time. Also, I know a lot of you dog owners are using this extra time at home to train for the upcoming season, and that can leave you chomping at the bit to crash your favorite covers. Enter ‘Films for Forests,’ which may only fuel your fire even more, but in all the best ways possible.

A message from RGS/AWS:
“We understand that the health and safety of you, your family and friends comes first and foremost. With that in mind we aimed to deliver the RGS | AWS audience some in-home entertainment during a time in which we cannot gather with our fellow conservationists. In some small way, we hope that these films bring you joy, reprieve and promise for what lies ahead.
Over the next few months we will continue to accelerate the production of film schedules for those that want to catch these films before anyone else and do so in support of healthy forests and abundant wildlife.”
