Northland Fishing Tackle has put out its newest line of soft plastic baits for pre-launch with certain key retail partners and online. These killer walleye soft plastic baits have been in development for well over a year, with the name coming from a joke from JMO host and veteran Devils Lake guide, Jason Mitchell. The Northland Eye-Candy family of soft baits is currently made up of five shapes in an almost endless array of walleye-specific colors.
The first of the new soft baits is the Eye-Candy Paddle Shad. It comes in at 3.5 inches, the Paddle Shad has a boot tail that swims and kicks whether ripped aggressively or slowly dragged along the bottom. The boot tail kicks with even the subtlest of movement, just like a live minnow.
The Paddle Shad is made of Northland’s Eye-Candy Super TPE plastic to make for a super durable, soft, and lifelike bait that will withstand dozens of boated fish.

The next bait is the Eye-Candy Minnow, designed to match the typical forage in walleye waters. The 3- and 4-inch Eye-Candy Minnow acts just like the real thing in how it swims, moves, and floats. Again they are made from Northland’s Eye-Candy Super TPE plastic for the same durability and action.

Do you need a leech pattern bait for walleye? The Eye-Candy grub fits the bill perfectly for that with its tail having an incredibly natural action to match a live leech. Third of the five baits the 3-inch grub features a realistic body design that just never stops moving when worked in the water.

The Eye-Candy Jig crawler is a small slinky worm-like morsel for the walleye. It comes in at 3.5 inches and mimics the perfect creepy crawly forage with its worm-like body. Combined with the Super TPE it has a lifelike action walleye can’t resist.

Nightcrawlers pulled on spinner rigs just flat-out work, and the Eye-Cady Nightcrawler is no exception to the case.
