Jason Hodge Claims Maximum Stratos 2X Program Payout with BWSTA Tourney Win

Flippin, Ark. November 1, 2011 – Stratos owner Jason Hodge has spent many weekends telling his fishing buddies just how smooth and fast his Stratos 201 Evolution is. Now, on the heels of his latest tournament win, Hodge has added another descriptor to his favorite fishing platform: profitable.

Hodge, of Marion, Ill., took full advantage of the lucrative Stratos 2X contingency program, which matches first-place prize winnings up to $10,000, after he and partner Leon Robinson, won the Bass World Sports Tournament Association’s Team Classic on Pickwick Lake, October 7-8. The duo’s first-place prize package was valued at $44,000 and included a 2012 Ranger Z119 Comanche powered by a 200-hp Mercury outboard.

“We’ve been lucky the last two years; won third place in this same tournament last year on Lake Guntersville. But this year has been phenomenal,” said Hodge, who operates his own tree-trimming business when not fishing local and regional tournaments. “We didn’t have a lot of weight in this tournament… I never dreamed we could’ve won it with a little more than 11 pounds on the second day.”

The team, fishing out of Hodge’s 2009 Stratos 201 Evolution powered by a 250-hp Mercury Pro XS, brought five-fish limits to the scales during both days of the BWSTA Team Classic for a total weight of 25.29 pounds.

“This is my first Stratos boat, and I bought it because a buddy of mine had an older 201 and I always liked it. I wouldn’t get rid of it for anything – it’s a fast boat and a great ride,” Hodge said. “I’m going to stay in a Stratos because the 2X program is perfect for guys like me who fish so many of these local and regional tournaments. You can’t beat a deal like this.”

Since its inception in 2008, the Stratos Boats 2X program has rewarded Stratos owners with tens of thousands of added dollars, doubling first-place tournament winnings from any qualified tournament up to $10,000. This loyalty incentive provides fuel and additional resources to keep Stratos owners actively pursuing their passion for local and regional tournament fishing.

With no signup fee or membership dues to pay, the Stratos 2X program is available to owners of any 2009-2011 model Stratos boat and makes no restrictions on individual models or motor pairings. Anglers need only complete an affidavit within 30 days of a first-place finish in a qualified tournament and Stratos Boats will double the winnings by matching the first place prize – regardless of how many qualified tournaments an angler wins during the year.
