Nebraska Reminds Hunters to Use Check Stations

Lincoln, Neb. – Rifle hunters and archers harvesting deer during the November firearm season are reminded that they must deliver their deer to a manual check station, according to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission.

The firearm season is Nov. 12-20. The season for Earn-a-Buck unit firearm permit holders is Nov. 12-22. Hunters, including archers, must deliver their deer to a check station no later than 1 p.m. on the day following the close of these seasons.

The electronic checking system, known as Telecheck, will be unavailable during the nine-day November firearm season. Earn-a-Buck hunters should continue to use check stations during the entire Earn-a-Buck season.

Game and Parks biologists will collect biological data, such as teeth, lymph nodes and tissue samples, at check stations in many areas of the state. The November firearm season is the best time to gather this data.
