Cabela’s Renews Commitment to Collegiate Anglers Through 2014

San Antonio, TX – November 17, 2011 – Already a long-term supporter of competitive collegiate bass fishing, Cabela’s, The World’s Foremost Outfitter, has stepped up their commitment to the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Series and Association of Collegiate Anglers through the end of 2014. As part of the continued sponsor commitment, Cabela’s will be the Official Retailer of the series and association, as well as the Title Sponsor of the Cabela’s Collegiate Big Bass Bash. As part of the commitment, more than $35,000 in Cabela’s gift cards will be given out every year at ACA collegiate events nationwide, and anglers competing in certain events are eligible for the Cabela’s Anglers Cash bonus as well.

The BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Series, featuring three nationally televised events, is the nation’s largest collegiate fishing series and includes the Cabela’s Collegiate Big Bass Bash, the Collegiate Bass Fishing Open, and the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship. Cabela’s will be promoted onsite throughout the entire series, featured online at www.collegiatebasschampionship.com, as well as in the programming, The BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Television Series, which is featured on NBC Sports Outdoors, formerly Versus. In addition, Cabela’s will support a growing number of school-run events across the nation through the Association of Collegiate Anglers, further strengthening ties to college-level anglers.
