Carol O’Day HSC’s Huntress of the Year

   12.05.11

Carol O’Day, co-owner with husband Kerry of custom firearms house MG Arms, has been named the Houston Safari Club’s “Outstanding Huntress of the Year.” This is an annual award but honors a lifetime of hunting achievement. Minimum requirements for consideration are: taking 50 animals, including dangerous game; hunted on three continents and many countries, and; extensive volunteer work. Selection for the award is determined by a panel of the nine previous recipients.

Carol has hunted 69 big game species, including lion and Cape buffalo. Her trophy count numbers in the 100s-from four continents, numerous countries, and a majority of the states here in the U.S. She is an active and fervid member of the Houston Safari Club, N.R.A., National Shooting Sports Foundation, and Safari Club International. Carol’s local, national, and international volunteer and charity work has been tireless.

The “Outstanding Huntress of the Year” award began in 1996. There have been only nine winners previously as the candidate is judged on merit alone. Everyone who knows or come into contact with Carol O’Day quickly realizes how deserving she is of this prestigious award. Presentation will take place January 14th at a black tie dinner during the Houston Safari Club’s annual convention.
