New Nissin MF18 Macro Ring Flash Meets Professional Demands

The Nissin Group has just introduced their new MF18 Macro Flash, featuring the highest levels of creative and professional performance. This unique ring flash unit provides outstanding functions with an expandable flash head and macro lens mount adapters from 49 to 82mm, with an extraordinary guide number of 16 (ISO 100). Nissin is distributed in the US exclusively by Minox USA.

The MF18 features two flash tubes which can be controlled independently as side A and side B to give you lighting ratio control. Four LED modeling lamps are built in for focus assist. The user-friendly auto color display, with My TTL custom setting, automatically rotates from horizontal to vertical as the flash is rotated. The 6-icon interface represents each of the six operation modes. Auto, TTL, Wireless, Manual, Fine Marco and Settings.

Designed to support Canon E-TTL and Nikon iTTL systems, its power ratio can be adjusted from 1/1 down to an incredible 1/1024 power in the Fine Macro mode. And the MF18 provides effective Wireless TTL by adding slave flashes to achieve high quality performance in macro shooting.

The basic package includes lens mount adapters of 52, 58, 62, 67, 72 and 77mm, with three additional options available – 49, 55 and 82mm. The MF 18 has an illumination coverage of 80° vertical and 80° horizontal. It’s powered by four AA alkaline/Ni-MH/lithium batteries.

The Nissin MF18 is firmware upgradeable via the built-in USB port and can also be used with the optional Nissin PS300 power pack for faster recycling times and longer battery life. With all these features, the Nissin MF18 sets a new standard for professional macro shooting. It retails for $439.
