The Miculek Family is shooting under the Cheaper Than Dirt! banner in the upcoming 2012 competition season. Cheaper Than Dirt! CEO, Michael Tenny said, “Jerry Miculek is the world’s greatest living revolver shooter.” When asked, Cheaper Than Dirt!’s Chief Operating Officer, Roberta Wilson, responded, “We are very excited to have the Miculek family representing us. Their wide acclaim in the shooting community is legendary. We are looking forward to this new partnership.” Patrick E. Kelley, Cheaper Than Dirt!’s sponsored 3-gun shooter added,“It is an honor to be associated with a family who’s name is synonymous with sportsmanship. Jerry, Kay and Lena Miculek, welcome to Team Cheaper Than Dirt!”
Jerry is one of the most accomplished shooters in the world. Although most fans of the sport know Jerry for his many championships and world records shooting revolvers, he is also one of the top multi-gun competitors in the world, winning over 52 national titles and 45 world titles throughout his career. Jerry makes regular appearances on several television programs including NBC Sports network’s Hot Shots and the Outdoor Channel’s Impossible Shots. He also appears on numerous other programs including Top Shots, Tales of the Gun, Sharpshooters, Extreme Marksman, and Son’s of Guns.
Winning her first national title at the 1975 NRA High Power Silhouette Championships, wife Kay’s shooting career is equally impressive. She began participating in the Action Shooting Sports in 1990, winning the IPSC World Handgun Championships as an individual twice, and winning USPSA Women’s Open Team four times as a team member. Additionally, Kay is a nine-time USPSA Women’s National Open Division Champion, 15-time USPSA Women’s Multi-Gun Champion, and numerous national, regional, and state titles.
Although Lena was born into a family of competition shooters, she did not start taking her shooting too seriously until a few years ago. Regardless, at age 16, Lena already has an impressive shooting resume. Her favorite competition is a 3-gun match called the Sportsman’s Team Challenge. As two-time National Championship Sub-Junior Team member and three-time National Championship Junior Team member, Lena was a member of the only all-female team ever to win the Sportsman’s A-division National Championship title in 2011. Her credits include a World Speed Shooting Junior World Title. Last year Lena became a member of the Women of USPSA’s Triple Threat Cub, winning three USPSA Area Championships in the Revolver Division. This year Lena will be concentrating on Multi-Gun matches.
