President of Smith Research Scores Big at Anglers Inn International

Chicago, Ill, resident Kevin Smith recently visited Anglers Inn of Mazatlan, Mexico and made the most of his time while at famed Lake El Salto. Smith’s largest bass tipped the scales at 8-pounds, 02-ounces. This marks Smith’s, first trip with Anglers Inn International.

“This was an outstanding trip that really exceeded our expectations,” said Smith, President of Smith Research. “I am not used to having the fine accoutrements that come standard at Anglers Inn International. The service and accommodations are phenomenal. The fishing is pretty amazing as well.”

Boating 100-plus fish each day, Smith and fishing partner Steve Reitman caught most their fish on 8-inch Watermelon Red lizards. Instead of bringing their own durables and baits, Smith only brought his terminal tackle and used the camp rod and reels.

“If I had some advice to first time visitors to Lake El Salto it would be to only bring your terminal tackle and a small tackle bag,” said Smith. “The tackle shop has everything you will need for a highly successful trip. The guides are great and put us on fish the entire time.”

Safety is typically a concern when travelling abroad, but at Anglers Inn International safety is never an issue. Hodge added, “I admit that I had the same concerns as every single person that thinks about planning a trip to Mexico, but the way Anglers Inn International handled us at the airport and driving to the lake is perfect. They greet you immediately at the airport and usher you directly to the lodge. It is a great operation and very safe in all aspects. I would return for another trip with Anglers Inn without a doubt.”

The Anglers Inn staff has been guiding highly successful fishing trips since 1979. Located in the Sierra Madres, Anglers Inn sits right on the shores of Lake El Salto and offers full accommodations to fit any need.
