Season 2 of Wild Justice Premieres on National Geographic Channel

After a popular first season with record-setting viewership, Wild Justice on the National Geographic Channel is premiering a second season and is signed up to film a third. The series follows California Game Wardens on the job in a state where they are understaffed, but demand for their help is high.

Reality TV show “Wild Justice,” which features the work of California’s Game Wardens, completed shooting a 2nd season and booked for a 3rd. The Premiere for Wild Justice Season 2 is Sunday night, March 11, 2012, at 9pm et/pt. on the National Geographic Channel.
The series premiered in November 2010 and set a new record for a reality series on Nat Geo with 3.2 million viewers (go to natgeotv.com for previews!).
“Wild Justice” plunges viewers into the dangerous and gory world of California Department of Fish and Game Wardens “The Thin Green Line” as they pursue wildlife poachers. Wild Justice dispels misperceptions of what people generally think Game Wardens do and highlights their role as one of California’s premiere law enforcement. Their specialized law enforcement work is an eye-opener. Under un-controlled environments, Wardens face every imaginable criminal activity in the most remote or inhospitable conditions. From 1,100 miles of coastline to deserts and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, to the most populous cities in the nation, only about 250 California Game Wardens patrol the states 159,000 square miles. Estimated annual profits from illegal commercialization of California’s fish and wildlife are well over $100 million. This black market in illegal wildlife trafficking is second only to the illegal drug trade and involves organized crime.
With habitat and wildlife biodiversity unequaled by any other state, and a population of 38 million people, it’s an overwhelming beat. Wardens are there to hold accountable those that abuse YOUR natural resources. Shamefully, “the ratio of Wardens to population in California is the lowest of all 50 states and Canadian Provinces.” The wildlife and natural resources of California held in trust for the people are in jeopardy as a result.
Working typically alone in specialized police vehicles, by plane, by boat, on foot, or undercover, Wardens work 24/7 to provide public safety and defend against human threats to the environment and wildlife. They also shut down cultivation of illegal drugs that destroy wildlife, water, and endanger the public. Often patrolling rural areas with back-up hours away seeking armed subjects, serving search warrants and undercover stings in large cities, and considered one of the most dangerous law enforcement professions, every day is an adventure, no two days the same, as the series follows on patrol with California Game Wardens.
