Eckhardt and Scroggins win South Carolina’s TPC

After a full day of pistols, rifles and shotguns at the Skip J Range, Marc Scroggins and Eric Eckhardt won their respective divisions at NRA’s South Carolina Tactical Police Competition in Anderson. Seven courses that test the skills of law enforcement officers and military personnel, Tactical Police Competitions (TPC) place competitors in real-life situations that test their mobility, accuracy and decision making process.

“We had a great bunch of men and women come out for the match today,” said NRA Law Enforcement Division’s Competitions Manager Marc Lipp. “Not everyone walked away with a trophy here today, but do go home with something else that’s even more important. They go home with training that will help them on the streets. The stress and anxiety they feel in our competitions are about the closest thing to the real life scenarios that they’ll experience in the field.”

Tactical Police Competitions provides officers with need additional practice time, live fire exercises, and challenges that hone their skills and gain additional experience in the handling and deploying of duty firearms. With six more TPCs on NRA’s calendar this year, there’s always the chance that you’ll be able to benefit from this style of training too. All you have to do try.
