Strictly Sail Pacific to Host Clipper Round the World Race

We’re pleased to announce that Sail America and Clipper Ventures have reached an agreement for Strictly Sail Pacific to be the official stopover for the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race.
Strictly Sail Pacific, local businesses, the City of Oakland, Mayor Quan, and the entire sailing community will join forces to welcome and host the 250-plus crew members of the Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race when they arrive in Jack London Square between April 2 and 7. The Clipper fleet, consisting of 10 identical stripped down 68-foot ocean racing yachts, will be on display at Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show from Thursday, April 12 through Saturday, April 14. Showgoers will be able to board a Clipper Race Yacht, talk to crew members, and take part in the official sendoff celebrations on Saturday, April 14.
Clipper Race Awards Ceremony: VIP show attendees and exhibitors are invited to join the Mayor of Oakland and other city officials at the Clipper 11-12 Race Awards Ceremony at the Waterfront Hotel on Thursday, April 12 at 6:30 pm. The winning team of Leg 6 will be presented with the “Strictly Sail Pacific Clipper Cup.”
Official Sendoff Celebration: The Clipper 11-12 Round the World Yacht Race fleet will depart for Leg 7 on the Saturday morning of the show. The sendoff celebrations will include marching bands, live music, cheering crowds and local dignitaries
