Mike Avery Honored by Michigan Broadcasters

Veteran outdoor broadcaster Mike Avery has received a merit award for the “Best Use of New Media” from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.
Avery was judged against all statewide radio and television networks in the annual MAB Broadcast Excellence Awards held in Lansing, Michigan.
The award was given for Avery’s Outdoor Magazine radio show and podcast, as well as his use of social media, a redesigned website, mobile apps for android/iPhones and other online outlets including Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Vimeo and Ustream.
“After more than 25 years as a traditional broadcaster, it’s exciting to explore new methods and technology to promote the outdoor lifestyle”, says Avery.
The three hour weekly Outdoor Magazine radio show is syndicated via the Michigan Radio Network and heard on twenty AM and FM stations across Michigan. The podcast version of the show can be heard on iTunes and many outdoor related websites.
