The second motos got underway at the AMA Thor Spring Classic in Pell City, Ala., in beautiful 80-plus degree weather. It was business as usual for Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s Adam Cianciarulo and Austin Forkner as they both took two moto victories apiece. Justin Hill led the first half of the second 450 A moto on his way to a third-place finish and led every lap of the Four Stroke Open second moto aboard his KX450F. Mark Worth bounced back to take second place behind Cianciarulo in both Supermini classes.

Consistency Pays Off

The Spring Classic’s three-moto format demands that riders be on their game all week long, just one poor moto can quickly spoil a rider’s chance for a championship. Forkner understands the importance of being consistent all week, but knows he can rely on his KX85 and KX100 to get the job done.

“Once I got out front today, I knew I just had to be smart and pick good lines,” said Forkner. “In Jr. Mini I need a win to have a chance at the title, but in my two 85 classes I can play it smart. Today the track got real rough and rutted as the day went on, so it’ll be important to stay consistent.”
