The Feeling of Elation Some Antarctic Explorers Get from a Candy Bar

If you were to take three month expedition to the south pole, I bet you would be elated, to say the least, when you find a stash of candy and other tasty goodies you forgot you squirreled away weeks ago. That’s exactly how the quirky explorer Aleksander Gamme from Norway felt when discovered what goodies from civilization he left for himself to return to on the 86th day of his South Pole Expedition in 2011/2012.

Gamme purposely didn’t write himself a reminder of what he left in the pack as part of his motivational plan. He didn’t expect much, but he got a heck of a pleasant surprise when he found it, much to the viewer’s delight as well. You think it’s been a while since he’s had a candy bar?
