Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program up for Discussion April 9 in Missoula, Montana

   04.02.12

Revisions to the rules that guide Montana’s Upland Game Bird Enhancement (UGBE) Program are the topic of a public meeting set for Monday, April 9 at 6 p.m. at the Missoula FWP office (3201 Spurgin Road).

The proposed rule changes are also up for review and comment through April 13 on the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov under “Public Notices.”

Landowners can apply to enroll in the UGBE cost-share program to develop, enhance, and conserve Montana’s upland game bird habitats if the land in the project area remains open to reasonable public hunting.

Most of the proposed changes fine tune the UBGE Program’s requirements, responsibilities, application and funding processes. Others clarify project renewals, payments, and reporting issues.

The public may also provide comment through April 13 by mail to: Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, Attn: UGBEP Rule Comments, P.O Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620.
