Kevin Windham, who was ranked seventh in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, has confirmed that he will be out for the rest of the season after flipping over the handle bars of his Honda bike and sustaining several injuries during the Houston Supercross.
“I’ve definitely got a dislocated shoulder so that ends my season right there,” said Windham to Motorcycle USA, “I can’t move my left thumb at all and my hip hurts. I’m not really sure what’s going on with either of them at the moment. I’m basically hurting all over.”
Windham’s crash came during the qualifying races of Houston Supercross. He had gained a slight lead over some of his competitors before another rider closed in on him. Windham pushed too hard over a jump and clipped his right foot before flipping over his handle bars on the down side of the jump.
“I’ve been lucky at avoiding big get-offs like the one I had in Houston,” said Windham, “But even after this one, I’m not done. I’ll be back for sure.”
