Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides Select Third and Final Winner in ‘A Year of Adventure’ Sweepstakes

Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides have selected Chris Hanrahan as the third and final winner in the co-sponsored ‘A Year of Adventure’ sweepstakes. Chris and a guest will be flown to Alaska for a week of skiing untracked lines on remote, helicopter-accessed peaks, courtesy of Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides.
The Heli Ski Alaska trip is the final of three trips to be given away by Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides in the ‘A Year of Adventure’ sweepstakes. With the third winner selected, the ‘A Year of Adventure’ officially comes to a close, wrapping up an extremely successful consumer sweepstakes.

A big thanks to our long-time sweepstakes partner Alaska Mountain Guides for helping us host and promote these adventures.”
Launched in April 2011, the ‘A Year of Adventure’ consumer sweepstakes gave contestants a unique opportunity to win one of three incredible prizes, including a mountaineering trip to Ecuador, a trek to Everest Base Camp, and heli skiing in the Alaska backcountry. All guiding services are provided by Alaska Mountain Guides (AMG) while gear and apparel was supplied by Sierra Designs.
A once in a lifetime opportunity, the Heli Ski Alaska adventure will give Chris and a guest the chance to float through untracked powder on seldom-skied peaks in the Alaska backcountry. Both Chris and his guest will be outfitted with Sierra Designs Ministry 40 packs, Gnar down jackets, Prima Fusion jackets, and pants.
Ryan Schanno, the winner in our Mountaineering in Ecuador sweepstakes, is scheduled to spend over two weeks learning mountaineering skills and experiencing the diverse culture of Ecuador this fall. Both Ryan and his guest received an equipment prize pack including Arrow Rock 15 sleeping bags, Revival 65 packs, Mantra Fusion Jackets and an SD Mountain Meteor 3 tent.
Emily Stimpson, the winner in our Everest Base Camp sweepstakes, will spend three weeks trekking through Nepal with one lucky guest. Incredible scenery, legendary Sherpa hospitality, and a night at Everest Base Camp await. Both Emily Stimpson and guest will be outfitted with an equipment prize pack including an SD Convert 3 tent, Revival 50 packs, all-mountain Rad jackets, and ultralight Jive jackets.
