Sonar and GPS School was in Session with “The Professor”

Have you ever felt like you didn’t know enough about something to even know what you didn’t know? Well, the first time you cranked-up your newsonar/GPS unit on the lake you probably had that feeling. When I read the manual that came with my new Lowrance HDS8 GEN2 Sonar and GPS unit, and then pushed the power button for the first time, I looked like a hog looking at a watch.

The Professor was at Phoenix Boat dealer D&D Marine on Highway 72 west of Athens, AL on August 9 to conduct one of his “enlightenment”seminars.

Right off the bat, The Professor pointed out to the class that sonar units are not fish finders nor are they depth finders- they are sonar units.
