Rarely does an elk hunt produce a 100 percent success rate for the entire camp, however, Bowhunter TV is primed to show viewers on Sportsman Channel — — that timing, skill and the right destination are everything. Hosts Mike Carney and Curt Wells are bowhunting in theColorado high country and make this challenging elk hunt look easy. This spot and stalk journey is not only riveting and captivating, but also educational for bowhunters of all levels. Sportsman Channel – the leader in outdoor television for the American sportsman is proud to show non-stop elk action on Friday, September 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
The first few days in northernColoradooffer plenty of encounters for Carney and guide, Doyle Worbington, including a bull elk that passes by Carney within five yards. Movement and trees branches are the only obstacles that prevent Carney from bringing home an impressive harvest! Confidence and hope is not lost as the ranch is loaded with elk, and has a great cow-to-bull ratio. The following day presents another golden opportunity for multiple elk. Can Carney keep his cool and seal the deal? Tune in and watch what drops!
Meanwhile, Curt Wells and his guide are also stalking bull elk and begin cow-calling from two separate locations along a well used trail. This well executed strategy is perfect as Wells connects on a massive elk from 12 yards in the sitting position.
“Not only did we both harvest impressive elk, but the trip is a smashing success, literally,” said Mike Carney, co-host, Bowhunter TV. “Our six-person hunting camp went one-hundred percent on shots for the week – an unheard of success ratio! When I was first approached about this hunt, I was a little skeptical, however, I’m certainly glad I made this trip as it was an unbelievable elk adventure. ”
