Rhode Island Launches New Online Hunter Safety Course
Hunter-ed 09.27.12
Rhode Island hunters who need to complete a hunter safety course before going hunting this fall now can get started on their state-approved training at www.hunter-ed.com/rhodeisland.
Rhode Island law requires that hunters must have held a Rhode Island hunting license in a prior year or successfully completed a hunter education course. The course at hunter-ed.com/rhodeisland is approved by the Rhode Island Division of Fish and Wildlife and contains the same material that’s taught in the classroom.
The course at hunter-ed.com/rhodeisland includes 14 new hunter safety videos to enhance the learning. Each video in this new series is 2 to 6 minutes long and features professional actors, entertaining storylines and up-to-date scenarios. They cover topics such as tree stand hunting safety, firearms safety, hunting from a ground blind, effectiveness of blaze orange and more.

Another new feature of hunter-ed.com is students can take their hunting safety course on a smartphone, tablet, laptop or Internet TV. Plus, an optional narration feature is provided in English and Spanish. Realistic illustrations and interactive animations also make it easier for students to learn how to be safe and responsible hunters.
Students can study for free at hunter-ed.com/rhodeisland. Those who must receive their hunter education certification to obtain a hunting license pay a one-time fee, which is due only if they pass the test. Students can take the test as many times as they need to pass it.
To complete all hunter education requirements for Rhode Island, students must sign up for an in-person exam.
