Magellan Kicks Off Hunting Season with New eXplorist Hunter GPS Editions and Kirsch’s TRAX Maps

Magellan, a leader in innovative GPS devices for vehicles, fitness, outdoor and mobile navigation, today announced two new Magellan eXplorist Hunter GPS Editions to give hunters a best-in-class  solution combining  TRAX hunting maps by Kirsch’s Outdoor Products with Magellan eXplorist Outdoor GPS receivers designed for the outdoor enthusiast. Additionally, current owners of Magellan eXplorist 310, 510, 610 or 710 outdoor GPS devices can now download their choice of Kirsch’s TRAX hunting maps at http://www.magellangps.com/Specialty-Maps.

The new Magellan eXplorist 310 and eXplorist 510 Hunter Editions are the latest in Magellan’s full line of eXplorist GPS receivers bundled with market-leading maps—the Magellan eXplorist Angler, eXplorist Pro Angler, eXplorist Marine, eXplorist TOPO! and eXplorist Hunter Editions.

TRAX maps combine features including Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Forest Service maps, Game and Fish maps, Wildlife Management Areas (WMA), PLOTS data, county roads, topographic contour data and other outdoor maps that work together on Magellan eXplorist GPS receivers to provide real-time mapping data critical to hunting and other outdoor activities. The Magellan eXplorist 510 Hunter Edition features a 3-inch WQVGA transflective touch screen to provide a high-contrast daylight-readable display that will assist hunters to see more areas of a map when navigating and planning their hunt. Also included in the Magellan eXplorist 510 GPS device are a built-in 3.2 megapixel camera for geotagged photos and recording videos, plus a microphone and speaker for voice notes during an adventure.
