Shooting Industry’s November Issue Covers Safety, Airguns & Varmint Hunting
OutdoorHub 11.14.12
The November edition of Shooting Industry magazine profiles top-selling safety products, highlights the enticing profit margins offered by the airgun and airsoft market, and includes tips for year-round sales in varmint and predator hunting.
Dealers who make safety a top priority with their customers are enjoying added profitability and peace of mind. At Nagel’s Guns in San Antonio, Texas, Mark Mercer, assistant manager, says he doesn’t have to sell the “new generation” of gun owners on safety products.
“I see more and more younger families coming in here,” Mercer said. “They’re looking at having a gun at home for protection … Being able to lock it up is just as important as owning the firearm.”

“Dealers would be shocked by the performance of today’s airguns,” said Steve Upham, vice president of sales for Crosman. “They’re letting perceptions of the airgun market from their youth make their decisions for them.”
The November issue profiles this overlooked market segment, highlighting the airgun and airsoft market’s growth and profit potential.
Varmint hunters are serious, dedicated shooters — who are often overlooked consumers. Tapping into this segment is about thinking beyond the traditional seasons, making some additions to existing product lines, and adjusting displays to group the right products together.
