Shooting Industry Magazine’s December Issue Jumpstarts New Year

Shooting Industry Magazine launches the 2013 New Business Year with the mega December issue, the first of two expanded editions.

“The December issue continues Shooting Industry’s long tradition of providing dealers business-boosting tools to fully maximize the New Business Year. The industry begins 2013 with significant momentum, and we are committed to helping dealers maintain that drive, as we focus on products, promotions, programs and business techniques that enhance long-term profits,” said Russ Thurman, Shooting Industry’s publisher and editor.

Four dealers share their profitable business strategies in “2013 New Business Year: Dealers Re-Brand To Create Entertainment Experience And Success.” Independent gun dealers are the innovators of the shooting industry, as well as its backbone, and success in the coming year will depend heavily on effective marketing and capturing that discretionary dollar.

Information on SHOT Show 2013 is also presented in the December issue, with the goal of helping attendees and exhibitors maximize their show experience. NSSF continues to make upgrades and improvements to the 35th annual show, and Shooting Industry’s preview helps dealers plot their course of action at SHOT or — if they are not attending — keeps dealers informed of what’s being presented at the show.

For the shooting sports industry, the 2012 Olympic Games was a defining moment. The U.S. Olympic Shooting Team set multiple records — not only in medals won and records broken — but also in the amount of publicity the Games garnered for the shooting sports as a whole, resulting in unprecedented exposure and mass reach on MSNBC. Shari LeGate, who has served as the shooting sports analyst for three consecutive Olympics, writes about this record-setting television coverage in the December issue.

Part I of the 2013 New Product Showcase kicks off the New Business Year buying season. The Showcase includes hundreds of new product offerings from manufacturers across the industry, featuring firearms, ammunition, optics and accessories. This first look at new products hitting the shelves in 2013 serves as a guide to equip dealers with the information they need to make the new year a success.

The Universe’s Greatest Buyer’s Guide — Shooting Industry’s extensive industry-wide directory — is also featured the December issue.

Shooting Industry’s Dealers Only Giveaway for December features a GO Bag Package from Gerber, which includes the Maxpedition Mongo Versipack, Gerber Multi-Plier 600 Sight Tool, Gerber DPSK folding knife and Gerber Recon-M Task Light. Dealers, enter to win the package — valued at over $275 — at www.shootingindustry.com/giveaway/.

The December issue of Shooting Industry Magazine, and the expanded January edition, are part of FMG’s overall effort to help manufacturers, distributors, importers, dealers and others in the industry maximize the opportunities of the 2013 New Business Year.
