Walther Introduces Fully-featured Pistol with a Value Price

Continuing over a decade of innovation and German engineering with shooter friendly features, Walther Firearms introduces new for 2013 the PPX. Perfect as a self-defense, concealed carry or target gun, this hammer-fired, semi-automatic pistol has a smooth pre- cocked trigger. The PPX comes in 9mm and .40 S&W in either black or stainless and ready for action.

The barrel is 4 inches (102mm) long with adjustable 3-dot steel sights for rapid aiming and quick target acquisition. For safety, the new PPX has a loaded chamber viewport to quickly identify if the gun is armed and ready along with three different safety systems – 2 safeties and a firing pin block. Its heavy duty polymer frame is sleek with Walther styling but rugged enough for practical everyday use. For greater control and accuracy, the PPX has a smooth, constant trigger pull of just 6.6 lbs (29N). The versatility and engineering is further demonstrated as it has a traditional reversible magazine release for left-and right-handed shooters that is easily accessible with standard grips. This double-stacked pistol has a magazine capacity of 16 rounds for the 9mm version and 14-round capacity for the .40 S&W and comes in a matte black or stainless version.

“We are very excited about the new Walther PPX because it has all the features law enforcement and avid shooters have come to expect from Walther but is affordable so it can fit in anyone’s shooting budget,” said Adam Blalock, President and CEO of Fort Smith-based Walther Arms, Inc. “This is one pistol that truly has to be fired to appreciate and it is certainly worthy of the Walther name.”

For those who need them or want added accessories, the PPX has a strong MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail for mounting flashlights, lasers or other tactical accessories. It even comes with an optional threaded barrel so modern suppressors can be utilized. Even though the Walther PPX is loaded with all these features and advanced design, it is one of Walther’s most value-priced options as the manufacturer’s suggested retail price ranges from $449 to $499.
