Rage Takes Crossbow Broadhead Technology to New Distances with the Lethal New CrossbowX
OutdoorHub 03.04.13
Since the advent of the modern crossbow, hunters have been begging for a broadhead that provides better flight at longer distances, and that is exactly what Rage has delivered with its all-new CrossbowX broadhead, the most lethal crossbow broadhead on the market. With newer crossbows producing speeds often exceeding 400 fps, the new Rage CrossBowX broadhead has been engineered specifically to perform at these levels.
Based on the exceptionally devastating and wildly popular X-treme broadhead design, the CrossbowX features a tapered, high-strength aluminum-alloy ferrule that incorporates Rage’s new Ferrule Alignment Technology (F.A.T.) shoulder. Despite the wicked initial velocity and energy produced by modern crossbows, the shorter overall length and greater mass of most current-production crossbow bolts produces velocity and energy levels that tend to fall off rapidly at longer distances. Rage engineers designed the CrossbowX’s F.A.T. contour to perfectly match the inserts used in standard crossbow bolts. This leads to greatly improved aerodynamics, as well as increased velocity and energy farther downrange—giving you the distance and accuracy that only a Rage CrossbowX can deliver.
The CrossbowX has a hide-cutting and bone-splitting leading-edge blade that is honed to surgical sharpness. It also incorporates a pair of sturdy, razor-sharp, .035-inch-thick stainless-steel blades. While the CrossbowX flies nearly identically to a field point, the CrossbowX’s blades open up to a 2-inch-plus cutting diameter on the patented and proven Slip-Cam system for a sweeping angle that produces bigger openings and massive internal hemorrhaging, which ultimately results in quicker kills and easy-to-follow blood trails.
Rage also used its recently patented Shock Collar™ blade-retention system on the CrossbowX. Originally designed to prevent premature openings for vertical bows on stalks and during still hunting, the Shock Collar provides the ultimate assurance that your CrossbowX broadhead will be completely contained yet absolutely ready to deploy from the time you remove it from the quiver until the moment it hits the target.
Easily recognizable by its orange ferrule, the new Rage CrossbowX broadheads will be available at archery retailers in 100-grain and 125-grain configurations with an included practice broadhead this spring at a suggested retail price of $44.99.
