North American Fisherman-TV Heads to Louisiana for Big Reds

This week, the North American Fisherman-TV crew travels to Venice, Louisiana in search of big fish.  Considered a premier destination and home to some of the country’s hottest redfish action, Venice is a big fish dream.   Also on the show, we take a look at how invasive species are entering our waters and we dive into the line-to-line championship between the “J-Knot” and the “Modified Albright” on Knot Wars.

The NAF-TV crew and guests easily settle into Venice, Louisiana for some of the best fishing they’ve experienced all year. The anglers start catching massive redfish immediately in the episode. “You can pattern them like any other fish. They don’t always hold their points, but today they are,” said Capt. Billy Nicholas of Venice Fishing Lodge.

While Louisiana is known as a “Sportsman’s Paradise,” Venice might be the top redfish destination in America. “It’s hard for people to understand the amount of bull reds we have down here. That’s what makes these estuaries so great—the sheer amount of big females swimming in our waters is impressive,” continues Nicholas.

The action was continuous with one guest catching their personal-best red to date. Viewers need to tune in to witness a 40-plus pound redfish.

This week’s Field Test takes a look at The Snip and the Garmin Fishing My-Cast. In Club House, the Berkley Volatile rod and REVO Inshore reel are covered. Lastly, “Silent Invaders” investigates what’s being done to prevent invasive species from being unknowingly transported in large ships’ ballasts.

From bass to stripers to swordfish, North American Fisherman-TV is traveling across the country to bring viewers the best action on the water today. North American Fisherman-TV airs on NBC Sports Network, Pursuit Channel, Discovery—Destination America and Wild TV.
