North American Hunter: Bruin and Turkey Tactics That Work in April/May Issue

Some bruins are, well, smarter than the average bear and that means employing a different tactic of calling in bears for in-your-face action as told in the April/May issue of North American Hunter. North American Hunter is a member-exclusive magazine of the North American Hunting Club, the premier community for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts.

In “Calling Baited Bears,” Judd Cooney shares his first-hand experience of using predator calls to bring in a wary bruin. He tells readers that you’ve set the table, now it’s time to ring the dinner bell.

North American Hunter Editor-in-Chief Gordy Krahn dedicates his column to gun rights issues and provides direction to gun rights advocacy sites to learn more about what’s happening across the U.S.

In “How Far is Too Far?” writer Wayne Van Zwoll gives practical advice for shooting long distances. It’s still turkey season and NAH Managing Editor Dave Maas is runnin’ and gunnin’ for Rios in the Sooner State in “Git-R-Done Gobblers.” Lastly, read up on “Food Plot Fixes” by David Hart for tips on battling whatever Mother Nature dishes out.

One of North American Hunter’s most read sections is “You Call the Shots” and this month is all about a nosy bruin, a pair of gobblers and a South African beast.

Other regular columns include: “NAHC Gear Giveaway,” where members could win a Garmin GPS Watch or many other items; in “Lethal Intelligence,” J.R. Absher gives readers the tale of two states, New York and Texas, and how much they differ in gun legislation; and in “Out West,” Bob Robb gives tips on booking the guided hunt of a lifetime. Lastly, don’t miss “Parting Shots” with Jeff Foxworthy as he reviews why 2012 was a great time spent in the woods by all.

Don’t miss the “Field Test” section powered by StuffStuff. More than 3,000 members tested products valued at more than $115,000, including the EOTECH G33 STS Magnifier and the CRKT Krommer Free-Range Hunter Knife. To see what NAHC StuffStuff testers said about these products, and to learn how to become a field tester, visit StuffStuff.com.
