FMG Publications Partners with USA Shooting for Shooting Industry Masters

With only weeks away until the firearms industry converges on Cody, Wyo., for the Shooting Industry Masters July 19-20, FMG Publications has again partnered with the USA Shooting Team for fundraising efforts and new-shooter instruction. For the fourth year running, the Shooting Industry Masters features the “Rent-a-Ringer” program — allowing teams to rent a world-class athlete to compete on their team for the two-day event. All the proceeds from this program benefit USA Shooting.
This year’s “Rent-a-Ringer” program features six athletes — including four 2012 Olympians — and is almost sold out.
“The USA Shooting athletes are in high demand, as indicated by how quickly their sharpshooting services were acquired by responsive teams through the ‘Rent-a-Ringer’ program,” said Randy Molde, Masters chairman. “It’s refreshing to be around these industry ambassadors and witness their talent and charisma firsthand. We’re honored to support the USA Shooting Team anyway we can.”
While at the Masters, USA Shooting Athletes will provide coaching for the Masters First Shots Instruction, playing a vital role in introducing new shooters to the shooting sports.
“It’s a privilege to have USA Shooting athletes to help with First Shots instruction during the Masters. Their patient, relaxed instruction is always popular with participants and helps to create an enjoyable experience for new shooters,” Molde said.
The Shooting Industry Masters would like to acknowledge the Team USA Shooting members that will be attending the Masters and the teams who have added “ringers” to their roster: Jamie Gray (Colt’s Manufacturing), Matt Emmons (Redring), Amanda Furrer (Daniel Defense), Frank Thompson (Shooter’s Supply Team #2) and Jake Turner (Shooter’s Supply Team #1). Will Brown, an accomplished pistol shooter, is the only “ringer” still available.
“I just became the third USA team member ever to win Gold in the Air Pistol event at World Cups,” Brown said. “Do you want to win the Masters? Rent me for your team and we’ll tear up the match!”
