Red, Light, and Blue: Crimson Trace Celebrates July 4

During many days of the year, there is actually as much darkness—or more dark hours—than daylight. Remember this during your sunny 4th of July festivities—and plan for your future.

That prolonged darkness, especially in the winter months that are coming again, can create problems for gun owners and home defenders, unless the gun used is equipped with a light. While much has been written about shining a flashlight to see into the darkness while holding a handgun in the other hand, this is oftentimes not the best—or safest—solution. That’s why Crimson Trace created the popular Lightguard and the Rail Master LED Light.

Those products offer distinct advantages. Mounted directly to the firearm, the lights are always there when you pick up the handgun or long gun. When you take aim, the light shines there.

A great first option is the Rail Master LED light. This small lightweight unit (Crimson Trace’s CMR-202) is activated with a master on/off switch and instantly powers up to provide a bright 100 Lumen LED white light. The Rail Master will mount on any M1913/Picatinny and Weaver rail. If you stop moving the firearm, the compact unit will automatically shut-off in five minutes.  This Rail Master light fits pistols, rifles and shotguns with the indicated rails and can be adjusted along the rail for a customized ergonomic fit. It’s available in black and coyote tan finishes.

Another option, the Lightguard series of trigger guard mounted lights, provides four models that readily fit many 1911 models, Glock full and compact handguns, the Smith & Wesson M&P full size handgun, and the Springfield Armory XD full size handgun. The 100 Lumen LED white light Lightguard has Instinctive Activation–when you grip the pistol, the light powers up. A Lightguard will operate for up to 2 hours on one CR2 lithium battery.

Keeping AR rifle owners in mind, Crimson Trace’s MVF-515 (a modular vertical foregrip) attaches to a rail on the rifle’s foreend. Instinctive Activation on the side is easy to use and will power the 200 Lumen LED white light for up to four hours. Available lighting options range from momentary to strobe to constant on. The MVF models are also available with red or green lasers.

With the 4th of July at hand, keep the red, light and blue in mind. As you consider your firearm lighting options, also keep the many Crimson Trace light sources in mind. They are all proudly engineered and manufactured in America. To locate a dealer near you, visit www.crimsontrace.com.
