When times are tough, profits are slim according to conventional wisdom. By staying agile and responding to customer needs, stores and manufacturers can grow profits even when the overall outlook is discouraging, says Dan Mann, founder of The Mann Group, a leading outdoor retail consulting group. Mann will deliver this message to participants at the International Fly Tackle Dealer Expo in Las Vegas, July 10-12. The meeting, to be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, is the world’s largest fishing trade show, sponsored by the American Fly Fishing Trade Association.
Since Mann founded The Mann Group 10 years ago, the company has helped over 750 retailers and manufacturers in the outdoor industry to increase profits and improve business practices through training, strategic planning and improved customer relationships. From small local shops to big international companies such as Adidas and The North Face, The Mann Group has shared expertise that drives sustained sales, even when overall retail sales are sluggish.
“The fly fishing industry offers a lot of opportunity right now,” says Mann. “I’m excited to share with this group what Ive learned from working with so many outdoor retailers. I know that fly fishing dealers and manufacturers can see the same profit increases enjoyed by others in the outdoor industry.” Mann will offer his insight to IFTD participants at his seminar, Strategies That Grow Business in Lean Times, on Thursday, July 11 at 11:00 pm.
