Simms Fishing Products Wins Five IFTD Awards

The Simms 2014 line of product is causing quite a stir at the 2014 International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST) and International Fly Tackle Dealer (IFTD) shows in Las Vegas, Nev.

Last night, IFTD announced its New Product Showcase awards and the 2014 Simms line captured 5 awards. For best waders, the Simms G3 Guide Stockingfoot won for “Best Wader” category, while the Women’s version (Women’s G3 Guide™ Stockingfoot) took home the honors for “Best Women’s Product.” Both waders incorporate the industry-leading 25% more breathable 5-layer GORE-TEX® fabric Simms developed last year for their G4 series.

The innovative GT TriComp LS Shirt that blends three fabrics in a uniquely techie fishing shirt won honors for “Best General Apparel.” In “Best Outerwear” the Acklins Jacket won out. The 3-layer GORE-TEX fabric technology, 3-point cinch hoods, lightweight and unique corrosion-resistant zipper design that incorporates a secure hand pocket with pit zips impressed the judging group, which is comprised of fishing media and retailers.

Closing out the awards, Simms’ G4 BOA Boot took home the prize for “Best Footwear.” The G4 BOA is highlighted by the new RiverTread platform with Vibram Idrogrip rubber sole and its unique asymmetrical BOA closure system.

“We came to Las Vegas this week for ICAST and IFTD with high expectations for this tremendous 2014 line of products,” says K.C. Walsh, Simms President. “Due to the hard work of our excellent team, our expectations have been far surpassed and we can’t wait for the world to see this great line.”

The entire Simms 2014 line will be available in specialty fishing stores across North America beginning in December 2013.
