This week on Winchester Deadly Passion, host Melissa Bachman returns to the Powder River area of Montana during the rut for spot and stalk action using rattling to lure in the bucks. It doesn’t take long for the deer to literally swarm around her, but it’s still a challenge to find the right buck to fill her freezer. Tune in on the Pursuit Channel on Tuesdays at 6:30 am, Wednesdays at 1:30 pm and Sunday at 7:30 pm ET. Catch a preview of the show here.

Bachman began hunting in Montana a few years back for mule deer, but she says the whitetails have really roped her in. “One of the different things I’m doing today is using a slug gun. I grew up slug gun hunting in Minnesota and really enjoy it. I’m also using horns to rattle since its rut season here. I’m hoping I can rattle in these big bucks close and stop them in their tracks,” said Bachman.

As soon as she begins rattling, bucks come in from all directions to check out the noise. “Rattling can be a very exciting way to hunt when you are sneaking around and suddenly three or four bucks come out of the brush. It can get really wild,” said Adam Gronning of Powder River Outfitters Guide.

Melissa and Adam change areas to hunt frequently and pass up on several, smaller bucks. “I like to hunt, so I’m going to extend my time out here to last possible minute,” said Bachman. She sights in a few 8-pt bucks, but they slip into the brush before she can pull the trigger. Viewers will have to tune in to see if she took too long to find her buck or if she’ll take meat home to Minnesota after all.

Winchester’s Deadly Passion is 13-weeks of non-stop action and pure entertainment as host Melissa Bachman travels the country going face to face with everything from world-class bear to 1,000-pound gators to Boone and Crockett whitetails. The show will keep you on the edge of your seat with hardcore hunting mixed with Melissa’s genuine and fun-loving personality. Her passion for hunting started at a young age and has continued to grow. Melissa is the real deal when it comes to hunting, but her personality is what will bring you back time and time again. She’s having fun doing what she loves, and it shows. This is one girl with a Deadly Passion.
