Shark Shield will be protecting host Jim Sammons in sharky waters during filming for Jackson Kayak’s Kayak Fishing Show on WFN and Seaguar’s Extreme Kayak Fishing Challenge on NBC Sports.
The Heliconia Press is excited to announce that Shark Shield—an innovative and proven shark deterrent company out of Western Australia—is a new partner for Season 5 of Jackson Kayak’s Kayak Fishing Show with Jim Sammons on WFN, and Seaguar’s Extreme Kayak Fishing Challenge on NBC Sports.
Viewers will surely remember Jim’s close call with a shark that tore a fish from his hands during filming for the shows in New Zealand (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpbNMk7Y3ic). With Shark Shield’s unique technology, Jim’s safety will be improved dramatically as he targets big fish in shark-filled waters.
“I don’t have a particular fear of sharks, but I have certainly had my share of close encounters.” says Sammons, “Shark Shield will help ensure my catch remains my catch, and it will certainly give me more peace of mind while my feet are dangling in the water.”
“Shark Shield is very excited to be working with such a well known and respected kayak anglers as Jim Sammons. Our unique technology is a perfect fit for ocean kayak fishing, allowing ‘yak fishers to explore the ocean with peace of mind from unwanted shark encounters.” says Amanda Wilson, Managing Director at Shark Shield.
“We’ve noticed a change in shark behavior over the last few years, in that sharks are learning to approach anglers after they hook a fish, and then steal those fish for an easy feed. This is what we refer to as a “shark tax”. With the help of Shark Shield, Jim Sammons, or any other ‘yak angler, can focus on fishing and avoid that pesky shark tax.”, furthers Wilson.
With upcoming shoots in Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, and Puerto Rico, the Shark Shield will be a very useful and welcome addition to Jim Sammons Jackson Kayak.
