Texas Deer Association Convention Welcomes Country Music Star Kevin Fowler

The Texas Deer Association (TDA) is pleased to announce that country music favorite Kevin Fowler will perform at its 15th Annual TDA Convention & Fundraiser. The convention will be held on August 15, 2013, through August 17, 2013, at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas, and Fowler will perform on Friday night, Aug. 16th

A native Texan and Lone Star favorite, Fowler describes his music as country with an edge. He has released five studio albums, and has charted three singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the Top 40 hit “Pound Sign”. In addition, he wrote Sammy Kershaw’s 2003 single “Beer, Bait & Ammo”, Mark Chesnutt’s 2004 single “The Lord Loves the Drinkin’ Man” and Montgomery Gentry’s 2009 single “Long Line of Losers”.

“While we always conduct a lot of business at our annual conference and we offer our members a wide variety of educational seminars on important wildlife management issues, the Friday evening concert is a great opportunity for everyone to just have fun,” says Karl Kinsel, executive director for the Texas Deer Association. “Fowler always keeps the crowd entertained and, as a renowned sportsmen, he shares our sincere passion for whitetail and mule deer, private property rights and our hunting heritage.”

The annual TDA Convention & Fundraiser is the state’s biggest deer industry event of the year, attracting thousands of deer enthusiasts from across the country. The annual event features exhibitors from the hunting and deer industries, fund-raising auctions that include whitetail and exotic hunts, hunting equipment and firearms; and other exciting events, such as the Superior Genetics Whitetail Deer Auction & Select Sale, educational seminars and round table discussions, golf tournament, casino night, poker tournament, washer tournament, antler contest, photo contest, ladies fashion show, fun youth activities and much more.

Founded in 1999, the TDA is the only non-profit organization solely committed to improving the quality of Texas deer herds through better habitat practices, modern harvest strategies and use of superior deer to enhance the herds. As a part of its public education efforts, the TDA produces a full-color bimonthly publication, Tracks Magazine, which updates TDA members on current industry news, deer genetics and game management issues.
