Free Hunter Education Course Scheduled Next Month in Plentywood, Montana
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks 07.23.13
The only round of hunter education classes planned this summer in Plentywood will begin in mid-August.
The free course will run from 5 – 9 p.m. on Aug. 12, 14 and 16 in the Sheridan Room of the Montana State Bank, 220 N. Main Street. Field day testing will take place the morning of Aug. 17 at a location still to be determined.
Any person born after Jan. 1, 1985, must present a hunter education certificate in order to purchase a hunting license in Montana, and students must be at least 11 years old to be certified. Class registration requires the signature of a parent or guardian for students under the age of 18. Field day events are also open to students over 18 who have completed their hunter education coursework online.
Students must attend each of the classes, as well as the field day event, and are required to read their instruction manual before coming to the first class. Manuals will be distributed and registration for the course will take place at a mandatory orientation session that will run from 5-6 p.m. on Aug. 8, also at the bank meeting room.
Class sizes for the course and field day are limited. For more information about the upcoming course, contact Ryan Williamson at 406-895-2468.
