This week on Winchester Deadly Passion, host Melissa Bachman travels to western Illinois, her favorite hunting spot, for a late season slug gun hunt that has her turned upside down with the very warm weather. Tune in on the Pursuit Channel on Tuesdays at 6:30 am, Wednesdays at 1:30 pm and Sunday at 7:30 pm ET. Catch a preview of the show here.
“For hunting whitetails, there’s no place better than Illinois. If I had to pick just ONE place to hunt for the year, this would be it,” said Bachman. As she should! She reviews the massive whitetails she’s taken in this area previously from a 202 inch buck during bow season to a 174 inch monster on a late muzzleloader hunt. The theme? Late season hunting over food plots.
The late season means deer need to pack it in before the chilly winter sets in – so they head right to food plots. Unfortunately for Bachman, this late season hunt has her sitting in a box blind at 70 degrees! Tune in to see if the unusual warmth throws off her game – or if she can add another monster buck to her trophy wall.
Also in this week’s “Tip of the Week” by Can-Am, Melissa demonstrates how the new Cam-Am BRP can help today’s hunter and she also reviews the Winchester Dual Bond slug ammo.
