NTOA’s “The Tactical Edge” Wins Awards for Publication Excellence

The National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA), the leading authority in law enforcement information and training, has been awarded two 2013 APEX awards for publication excellence for the NTOA-produced magazine, The Tactical Edge. The APEX Awards, now in its 25th year, are bestowed upon publications, websites and social media platforms that demonstrate excellence in graphic design, editorial content and success in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.
Both awards, “Most Improved Magazines & Journals,” and “One-of-a-Kind – Education & Training Publications,” recognize the editorial staff: Amanda K. Martin, Publication Manager; Mary Heins, Editor; and Michelle Griffin, Assistant Editor.
The awards are received just as the 2013 summer edition of The Tactical Edge is being published. Published quarterly, The Tactical Edge is a leading authority in tactical operations information and cutting-edge special features on a variety of topics affecting law enforcement today. The Tactical Edge covers the most current topics affecting today’s law officers, such as tactical command, physical fitness, canine training, behavioral sciences, tactical team profiles, defensive tactics, current firearms and high-risk patrol topics, incident summaries and the day-to-day legal, moral and ethical dilemmas officers face. The Tactical Edge is available only to NTOA members, who are active law enforcement officers and military personnel.
