Diamondback Sponsored Jack Hudson Places Second Overall British 4X Series

44Racing Rockstar were in action at the final round of the British 4X Series in Leamington Spa, and it was Diamondback sponsored rider Jack Hudson who came away with a fine 2nd place overall.

The 2013 British 4X Season came to an exciting conclusion for 44Racing at RLS 4x in Leamington Spa. With a super smooth and fast flowing track, plus the extension of some of the pro section jumps, racing was definitely going to get exciting for the finale of the year’s national action.

Big news for the 4x team leading up to the race was the announcement of elite racer, and Rockstar Energy Drink athlete, Joe Mallinson on to the GB team for the 4x world championships to be held in Leogang at the end of September. With the importance of worlds Joe chose to stay in Scotland and continue training for the race. With Eddie Pugh also missing from the race it was left to Jack and Connor Hudson to represent the team.

Racing in the Junior category was Connor Hudson. Feeling comfortable on the track and knowing he had a big advantage by getting through the big Pro Section jumps, Connor was feeling good for the days racing. Getting off to a solid start with a third and two second places in the motos Connor moved through to the Semi Finals. Getting a good gate Chudson held second place, and the last transfer spot for the final. A forceful pass in the penultimate corner pushed Hudson back to third and into the B final. A bad gate in the B final put Connor into third, and seventh on the day. After a successful year of racing Connor finished seventh overall in his first year racing in junior.

Having already guaranteed himself second in the Seniors overall, Jack Hudson set out to finish the season on a high. Getting racing off to a great start with wins in all three motos and would progress through to the quarters as highest place qualifier. With a great first straight Jack lead into turn one before falling back to second. Making mistakes on the last straight, trying to move through to first, Hudson fell back to third and his day was over. Hudson finished ninth on the day. Having made five out of six A finals along with five podium finishes this season, Jack finished second overall in Senior.

In the national team cup 44Racing Rockstar finished fourth. A great result with half of the team racing in Pro Elite and three riders having their first season in their category.

Individually the riders have had a great season putting in some impressive results in the overall standings…
Jack Hudson – 2nd Seniors
Connor Hudson – 7th Juniors
Eddie Pugh – 13th Elite
