Costa’s high contrast specialty 580P sunrise lens is now available in Rx sun lenses (single vision and progressives). The lens is lightweight, impact resistant and allows for maximum light transmission and enhanced depth perception to cut glare and allow anglers to see through the water more clearly. The 580P sunrise lens is ideal for fishing in the early morning or late afternoon prime fishing hours, when outside light is low.
Costa’s 100 percent polarized 580 lenses block yellow light from entering the eye, creating razor sharp color enhancement and superior visual acuity. In addition to the sunrise lens option, other 580 Rx lens color options include gray, copper, blue mirror, green mirror and silver mirror.
Different lens designs vary the amount of light allowed through the lens. The 580P sunrise lens more than doubles the light transmission of other Costa lens options making it possible for anglers to spot fish more clearly during early morning or dusk hours when sunlight wanes.
“With the introduction of the sunrise Rx lens, all of Costa’s patented 580 lens colors are available in Rx, giving everyone the chance to customize their prescription sunglasses with the lens best suited to their outdoor activities,” said Chas MacDonald, president of Costa Sunglasses.
The 580P sunrise lens first debuted in 2012 at the American Sportfishing Association’s International Convention of Allied Sportfishing Trades (ICAST), where it won the award for Best New Eyewear. It’s available in Costa’s Waypoint™ digital processing technology (single vision and progressives) and the proprietary C-SCAPE™ progressive design. These technologies are specifically developed to provide a wider field of view, and eliminate the blurry edges that can bother active wearers of wrap sunglasses.
