Another Rainy Match, Another National IDPA Title for Team Smith & Wesson’s Miculek

Once again the world’s best revolver shooter, Jerry Miculek, found himself shooting through the rain, and just like last year did so all the way to another national Enhanced Service Revolver division title with his dominating performance in the 2013 IDPA U.S. National Championship in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Miculek won with a time of 294.66 seconds and 76 points down. Taking stage wins on 12 of the 17 stages, Miculek outpaced his nearest competitor by 114.29 seconds.

“With the regularity that Jerry Miculek wins matches, I’m beginning to think he’s less of a shooter and more of a force of nature. Despite the off and on rain, Jerry shot undeterred and picked up yet another IDPA National Championship title,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.

Second place in the division went to Wayne Ritchie who finished first Expert with 408.95 and 73 points down. Darrell Sells placed third in the division to take first Sharpshooter with 424.76 and 112 points down. T.J. Milam, the first Master, was fourth with 427.99 and 149 points down, while Deon Greenwood, second Expert, rounded out the top five with 440.91 with 176 points down.

Elsewhere in the division, Brad Ludolph claimed first Marksman honors with his time of 493.52 seconds with 142 points down.

The 2013 IDPA U.S. National Championship took place September 19-22 in Tulsa, Okla., drawing many of the shooting sports’ top pistol and revolver shooters.
