Montana FWP Seeking Comments on Pine Grove Pond Fishing Access Site Proposed Addition

Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks (FWP), Region 1, has written a draft environmental assessment (EA) for the Pine Grove Pond Fishing Access Site Proposed Addition Acquisition for the purpose of accepting the donation of 5.39 acres of land northeast of Kalispell, Montana, near the Whitefish River and adjacent to the Pine Grove Pond Fishing Access Site (FAS). The proposed addition would access nearly 1,800 feet of river and would allow FWP to provide public access for fishing, wildlife viewing, and picnicking adjacent to the very popular Pine Grove Pond FAS. This addition would also allow access to and from the Whitefish River for canoeing, rafting, and kayaking.
The draft is available at FWP headquarters, 490 N Meridian, Kalispell; Montana State Library, 1515 E 6th Ave., Helena; Flathead County Libraries: 247 First Ave. E, Kalispell; 130 6th Street W, Columbia Falls; & 9 Spokane Ave., Whitefish; and the FWP web site at fwp.mt.gov under Public Notices. The draft is out for a 21-day public review through 5:00 p.m., October 15, 2013.
