The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) is pleased to announce a new collaboration with its long-time Corporate Sponsor Plum Creek aimed at maximizing the educational and recreational opportunities for deserving youth, disabled, military, first-time and limited opportunity hunters.
“Through Plum Creek’s generosity, QDMA will be able to provide access to this unique property for educational and hunting purposes to hundreds of youth and other deserving individuals, all while showcasing the benefits of Quality Deer Management,” said QDMA CEO Brian Murphy. “We hope this pilot project will lead to many other similar initiatives which provide training and access to the most deserving.”
“Plum Creek is very pleased to partner with QDMA in this worthwhile project,” said Plum Creek’s Director of Recreational Lease Management Glenn E. Johnson. “QDMA provides the best tools and expertise to successfully achieve our outreach objectives for this property. With impressive initial support from the Greenwood Community and Lakelands Branch, we are excited to see the first events later this fall.”
The first endeavor of its kind in QDMA’s history, this collaboration was made possible with Plum Creek providing a generous gift of a multi-year lease to a 500-acre property located outside of Greenwood, South Carolina. QDMA’s Lakelands Branch will manage the property, which includes a three-bedroom house and a fishing pond, with support from QDMA. The property will also be used for QDMA Branch events.
Anyone interested in providing support for the hunting property and its mission should contact QDMA’s Lakelands Branch vice president Karman Bedenbaugh at (864) 992-3312.
