Turnbull Manufacturing is proud to announce the newest member of the growing Turnbull family of new firearms based on classic models. The new 1911 Heritage Pistol replicates the look and feel of 1911 pistols built during WWI.
“The 1911 pistol remains one of the most beloved and desired handguns after over 100 years of manufacturing and the 1918 design is the one that best captures John Browning’s design,” said CEO Doug Turnbull when asked about the frame design, “We took that timeless design and added our unique color case hardening and charcoal bluing.”
The Heritage has a 5 inch barrel with a carbon steel frame, slide, trigger, hammer and grip safety. It comes in .45 ACP with a 7+1 capacity in a traditional single stack magazine. All components are manufactured in the USA.
The frame is color case hardened using Turnbull’s traditional bone and charcoal method for the best color and strength. The pins, screws, trigger, slide stop and safety lever are nitre blued while the remaining parts are charcoal blued. This combination of finishing techniques creates the best combination of strength and beauty throughout the gun.
The grips on this piece of handgun history are made of black walnut checkered in the double diamond pattern. The grip screws are nitre blued to complete the classic look and feel of the Heritage.
The Turnbull Heritage has a retail price of $1,995 and is currently being built to order.
“When we made the decision to expand our line of new production/historically accurate firearms, it was obvious that the 1911 is by far and away one of the best known pieces of handgun history. “Our team of designers and master craftsmen set about to recreate this timeless design using our mix of new materials and technology, and old style methods, such as our case hardening.”
The Turnbull Heritage is part of Turnbull’s ongoing product line expansion that incorporates classic designs, using a combination of both traditional and modern materials and methods to bring historic looks alive with modern reliability and accuracy. It is this seamless combination of the old and new that sets Turnbull apart.
