2014 NRA National Smallbore Rifle Championships Moving to Bristol, Indiana

For the third time in more than 100 years, the NRA National Smallbore Rifle Championships will not be held at Camp Perry, OH. Instead, the 2014 championships will move three hours west to the Chief Wa-Ke-De Range in Bristol, IN.
The Chief Wa-Ke-De Range is the current home of the NRA National Metric Championships, which will combine with the Smallbore Rifle Championships for a twelve day competition from July 14 to July 25. Featuring a 100-point asphalt-covered firing line and plenty of protection from wind, the range is ideal for smallbore rifle competition.
New next year will be the conversion of team matches to the “paper match” style, wherein scores are compiled from the existing individual match results. International Postal Team Matches such as the Drew Cup and Randle Cup will remain separate events and will be shot following the championships.
“While the NRA Smallbore Rifle Championships will be at a new location in 2014, they are and will continue to be the pinnacle of smallbore competition in the United States,” said Dennis Willing, Director of NRA Competitive Shooting. “The Chief Wa-Ke-De Range is sure to create new challenges and new opportunities to competitors accustomed to Camp Perry’s firing line.”
The Smallbore Rifle Championship Tournament Program will be posted March 3, 2014 and registration opens April 1, 2014. Entry to the 2014 NRA National Smallbore Rifle Championships is limited to 300 competitors and the Metric Championships are limited to 200 competitors.
