New Jersey 2013 Bear Season Permits on Sale

The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife is reminding interested hunters that the sale of unclaimed and leftover black bear hunting permits for the 2013 season (December 9-14) has begun.   Permits can be purchased at any license agent or online; those purchasing permits online will have them mailed and need to allow 7-10 business days for delivery.

A current 2013 Firearm or All-around Sportsman license is required to obtain a permit.  There is a $2.00 fee for each permit, and hunters are limited to two permits for the season. The season bag limit is one black bear regardless of whether a hunter has a permit for another area.

Permits for all four Bear Hunting  Areas are currently available; exact numbers of available permits can be viewed at http://www.nj.wildlifelicense.com/ALS/unit_report.php ;  that page is updated in real time with remaining permits as the sale continues.

A list of license agents can be viewed at http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/agenlst.htm ; permits can be purchase online from the Division’s license website at http://www.nj.wildlifelicense.com/.
