Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Bianchi Cup, this week Doug Koenig takes us to the Green Valley Rifle and Pistol Club in Columbia, Missouri. Having won the match 15 times, Doug discusses the longstanding tradition and history of the match and provides colorful insight behind the scenes as competitors take to the line of fire.
The match is composed of four courses of fire, shot at varying distances and time limits that require competitors to shoot both weak and strong hand. With a heavy emphasis on shooting accurately, Doug credits his S&W DK 38 Super Comp pistol topped with a Leupold scope, shooting Hornady 110 grain XTP bullets and the comfort design of his Safariland ELS belt that allows him to focus on his shooting technique.
Koenig said, “Having competed at the Bianchi Cup since 1987, I’m still in awe of the representation of competitors the match attracts and how important it is for me to have equipment that works flawlessly.”
