Santa Claus is Coming to Georgia, Holiday Treats at Go Fish
Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division 12.05.13
Santa is taking a break from his holiday preparations at the North Pole and traveling down to Perry for some fishing at the Go Fish Education Center before his big night!
Do you want to fish with Jolly Old Saint Nick? Then make plans to visit Go Fish on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 15, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. You must RSVP if you plan to attend. To RSVP, call (478) 988-8000 by 5 p.m. Dec. 10.
The kids will soon be out of school, and cabin fever is sure to set in around the holidays. Luckily, the Go Fish Education Center has a cure. The center will be open special holiday hours on Dec. 23, Dec. 30 and Jan. 2 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in addition to their regular hours.
As if fishing with Santa and extended holiday hours weren’t enough, the center is offering another holiday fishing treat. Trout from the Go Fish hatchery have been stocked in the center’s fishing pond and are ready to be caught! Hybrid bass, catfish and bluegill are also available.
All fishing is catch and release, and anglers 16 and older must have a fishing license. Licenses can be purchased online at www.georgiawildlife.com/licenses-permits-passes, by phone at (800) 266-3661 or at the Go Fish Education Center. Rods, tackle and bait will be provided. All you need to do is catch fish!
Regular admission applies for all special events. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors 65 and older, $3 for children and FREE for ages 2 and younger.
